On December 2nd, we are launching our End-of-Year Fundraising campaign to address the most pressing needs of our community members at this time. We have set a $25,000 year-end goal, strengthened by a generous $10,000 matching gift.

Your contribution to the EMHS Crisis Fund directly supports:

  • Emergency aid for families experiencing sudden crisis

  • Trauma-informed therapy for individuals, families, and groups

  • Support groups and workshops for parents, helpers, and community leaders

  • Stabilization resources that promote safety, resilience, and connection

We are deeply grateful for the donors who have already reached out with messages of care:

“I want to do something in this terrible time. I know EMHS will use it wisely.”
“Sending concern and care to the clients and communities impacted.”
“Thank you for your commitment to client support & safety.”

Your support ensures that during moments when families are most afraid or most alone, they receive care that is steady, dignified, and community-rooted.

Thank you for standing with us—and with our neighbors—during this time.

Our Mission

RESPONSIVE, COMPASSIONATE CARE.

The Kedzie Center is one of Chicago’s first community-funded mental health centers, created through the efforts of North River residents, who worked to ensure that all community members would have access to compassionate, quality and culturally-informed mental health care.

We provide individual, family and group therapy, psychiatric consultation, and guidance in identifying and accessing community resources; services are provided in both English and Spanish and are available to children, adolescents and adults.

We offer services to those living within the boundaries of the North River Expanded Mental Health Services Program.
